We are an Inshore & Offshore Salt & Freshwater Family Oriented Fishing Club

The Club meets twice a month. The Officer's Meeting with all Board Members meet the 2nd Tuesday of the Month at 5:30pm usually held at the Grumpy Grouper Restaurant located in Lantana. Any member can attend. And, the Regular Social meeting is held the 4th Tuesday of the Month at 7:30pm in the Club House at the Boynton Beach Ramp Park. All are welcome - members & non-members.

Capt. Darren owns & operates the Ole' Florida Fly Shop located in the Old Victorian Plaza, Boca Raton. Darren has years in the fly fishing industry and is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the sport, both inshore & offshore fly fishing. Whether you want to target bonefish, tarpon, dolphin and permit or rainbow and brown trout, Darren's expertise about rods, fly presentation, and fish habitats will enhance your fishing experience. The Club is a family oriented club whose members enjoy the sport of fishing. The club has been active for over 25 years. Membership is not required, so come out and visit as our guest, then join if you like. We Charge no admission, but a small donation is always appreciated to keep the club providing these free seminars. See you there! Plus, they are considering closing the entire South Atlantic to all bottom fishing from 95' on out for up to 35 years. Final Results, 2010 "Fish the Ditch" Tournament.

Dear Members,

After an exciting (2) two day tournament, I am pleased to report the Final Standings for the 2010 Annual "Fish the Ditch" tournament. Club anglers fished the Intra-coastal waterway and it's tributaries on either, friday March 5th or saturday March 6th. Both days greeted them with cooler than normal temperatures and gusty winds. All enjoyed a morning of fishing, whether or not they placed in the top (3) three Award positions. Following the Final Weigh-in at 1: pm on saturday, All participants and guests enjoyed a nice cook-out with burgers and hot dogs, chips, and beverages. Club Secretary Carol Moran also brought a delicious platter of chocolate covered strawberries. They were awsome. We all had a nice time comparing lies and playing with Missy the dog.

After all the fish were weighed and verified, here are the results.

               1st place : Capt. Jaime Lomeli; 6.43 lb Jack Crevale

               2nd place : Steve Hollander; 1.96 lb Sheepshead

               3rd place : Steve Slomiak; 1.25 lb Barracuda

               Honorable Mention: Sharon Krampetz; .92 lb Parrotfish

               Junior Angler Award: Shannon Davis

As you can see you don't need a monster sized fish to win one of our awards. Just participate and enjoy a day of fishing. and you too may go home with a nice plaque or trophy.

Next tournament is April 2nd and 3rd 2010. This tournament will be an in-shore or off-shore contest, open to all members and their guests. Sign up at the next meeting on March 23rd and save $5.00 off the ($20) twenty dollar entry fee.
